Queena is the Principal Tutor and Lead Educational Consultant at Queens Tutors. Young, passionate and driven, she leads a talented team of tutors united in the vision of providing stunningly bespoke tuition to students across the world.
However, being a second generation migrant to the UK at a young age, she wasn't always destined to succeed. Having been inspired by motivational mentors, Queena went on to beat the odds, win scholarships and achieve the top GCSE grades of 11A*s at a prestigious fee-paying independent school. This won her a full academic scholarship to the top independent sixth form college in the UK, where she subsequently featured on 'Britain's Brainiest School'. Here she devoted herself to humanitarian work, speech and advocacy. Most notably, her work with a local educational charity in breaking down barriers to educational won her national success and multiple awards. 3A*s at A-Level and an uplifting essay later, she found herself studying for her dream degree in her dream city - 'Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)' at King's College London with a scholarship from Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Here she continues to love her role treating patients at Guy's Hospital whilst spending every moment she can teaching and inspiring her students.
She attributes her success to finding and lighting a passion for her subject, meticulous exam technique and developing a natural confidence and love for her field. She was recognised by Prime Minister Theresa May as a national 'Point of Light' for her work in leading an initiative to provide tuition to disadvantaged children. She has also been awarded the Ethnic Minority Welsh Women’s Achievement Award, highlighting her role as a role model for ethnic minorities
Approach to Tutoring:
Queena believes in finding and firing the potential of every student she works with. Teaching a student a concept well gives them the keys to understand and answer questions in that realm, however Queena's approach takes it a step further and focuses on developing strong and independent thinkers.
Queena is an extremely bubbly, goal-oriented and engaging tutor. During an initial lesson, she will focus on understanding her student's goals and visions and work with them to devise a plan to achieve this. She uses her bubbly personality and articulate speaking style to create engaging and stimulating lessons that target specific areas of subjects that are difficult to grasp, reinforcing concepts with relevant practice questions whilst offering her small tips for interpreting exam questions and taking tests.
It is her unique culmination of skills and experience that have led her to achieve national acclaim -inspiring, motivating and transforming the lives of her students across the world.
Hobbies & Interests:
In her spare time, Queena is a keen debater and public speaker. She has achieved Grade 8 Distinction in the London Academy of Dramatic Arts Public Speaking Qualification, speaking at events throughout the country as well as competed in the prestigious national Cambridge and Oxford Union Schools Parliamentary Debates. In 2015 she was named ‘Best Speaker’ at the Welsh Debating Championships as well as winning multiple other national debate competitions.
Queena is also a passionate pianist and violist, having achieved Grade 8 in the Associated Royal Board Examination and trained under the tutelage of prestigious Russian and Malaysian tutors. Her musical endeavours have taken her to performances across Europe as well as writing, arranging and conducting the soundtrack for an original musical. Queena teaches classical piano professionally and offers musical theory lessons to supplement. She can often be found jamming to her favourite Disney soundtracks as well as playing jazz standards in the evenings.
"Queena has been an amazing tutor. I'm so thankful that we found her. She is tutoring my daughter in A-level biology, and is extremely knowledgeable and engaging. She is helping with exam technique and revision as well as content, and within a couple of sessions had already made an enormous impact. Very happy indeed!"

I worked with Queena to prepare for my 11+ exams this year. She worked with me every step of the way, helping me to create a timetable and study plan as well as teaching me everything I needed to know for my exams. When I didn't understand something, Queena turned the problem around and explained it differently so that I could understand it and even made worksheets for me to help test my understanding."

"We've hired many tutors for our growing brood of children but none have come to match the tenacity, professionalism and passion that Queena quite clearly demonstrates. She gave us an initial assessment and planned out all the steps needed for our son to achieve his goals. Queena worked with our son James for his GCSE Further Maths exams and helped him to achieve 100% in both of his papers. She went above and beyond in every facet of his education and ensured he had all the tools available to him to ace his exams. We have now enlisted her help for James' A-Levels as well as for our younger son and daughter!"

"I just wanted to say thank you to Queena for helping me save my GCSE grades despite contacting her last minute! I genuinely looked forward to and enjoyed every single lesson with her, she explains things so clearly and I wouldn't have managed to achieve the grades I did without her"
Becca D, Student
"We could not be more delighted that we found Queena to help our son with the 13+. The change that we've seen in him since he started working with Queena has been profound and has been lasting. He is so much more motivated to work on his own accord and has even worked his way into the top sets for both Maths and English. Thank you so much for helping Elliott find his passion and most of all get all of his senior school offers!"

"Queena makes such an amazing impression from the moment you meet her. She is passionate about her work, communicates clearly and although it sounds cliche, makes learning fun. Within a short time, she had turned my daughters attitude to tackling maths around so that she doesn't panic but works methodically through different problems. Now she looks forward to her lessons and Queena with her pragmatism, patience and expertise makes maths enjoyable!"
